I’m not sure exactly what to say today. This had been, well, a week… Quite a week.
Sunday morning I started the day with a run around the section. It was gorgeous. Slight breeze- dirt roads for 2 of 4 miles- birds singing- fresh air. All the parts of nature that need to be relished and appreciated. At mile 3, I encountered a half mile hill. I managed to ‘just keep swimming’ in Dori’s terminology (Finding Nemo) all the way up the hill. At the top I chose to walked for a bit. The I kicked mile #4’s arse. Alien Ant Farm and B. Spears helped me kick it with everything I had left in me back to my driveway.
Sunday was M’s 2nd birthday! Although we had a slight malfunction with our air conditioner and the house was 80 degrees for the birthday party, it went beautifully! 80 felt pretty good since it was almost 105F outside. She was happy and both kids enjoyed the time with cousins.
Monday and Tuesday were a blur. We road-tripped to Denver (6hrs) on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Wednesday was a lifelong medical diagnosis that really sucks followed by a long trip home. Thursday was work and recovery from the trip.
Here we are Friday. 3 snoozes later, I ran 2 miles (that felt like 10) and spent some time in the garden with the kids weeding and finding new produce. I love my days at home with T and M.
I choose to be happy today. I choose to make today amazing and acknowledge all the blessings around me.
